Resident Services CoordinatorFull-Time Position

We are looking for a full-time Resident Services Coordinator who demonstrates our core values of compassion, integrity, excellence, and family.  The Resident Services Coordinator provides a variety of programs and supports to improve the quality of life for residents and coordinates social service interventions for residents, maintains effective resident relations, and works collaboratively with the team.

The Resident Services Coordinator receives general supervision from the Director of Life Enrichment.  In the absence of the Director of Life Enrichment, the Resident Services Coordinator will receive direction from the Executive Director.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops and cultivates strategic partnerships with local social service providers to bring on-site programs to our community and refer residents to local resources and opportunities.
  • Uses resources available and builds relationships with residents to better understand their needs and connect them with programs and agencies available in the larger community.
  • Provides general case management, referral services, and service coordination.  Maintains a directory of community resources.  Assists residents with completing forms and applications for the appropriate resources and agencies.
  • Conducts and coordinates welcome orientation for new residents.  Provides support, advice, and assistance for the Resident Welcome Committee and the Resident Association.
  • Effectively communicates with residents and families and provides counsel and education on Resident Rights and Responsibilities and Social Service Concerns. Maintains effective resident relations.
  • Plans, organizes, and implements resident education programs.
  • Creates consistent outreach and communication with residents, including newsletters, flyers, telephone calls, technology, and in-person visits.
  • Coordinates and schedules programs to enhance resident life, compatibility, and understanding.
  • Assists residents with technology requests and maintains community iPads, cell phones, resident computers in accordance with company requirements.
  • Helps residents build formal and informal support networks with other residents, families, and friends.
  • Coordinates with home health organizations providing care for residents and maintains up-to-date file documentation as required.
  • Tracks assistance data and completes monthly reports.
  • Implements activity programs as assigned by the Director of Life Enrichment.  Encourages resident participation in activity programs.  Provides input to the Director of Life Enrichment as to resident needs, interests, and abilities.
  • Possesses an unrestricted Driver’s license and safely operates the community minibus according to company, State, and local requirements.
  • Arranges transportation services for residents.
  • Provides supervision for resident trips and outings in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains cleanliness and order of office, activity spaces, and storage spaces.  Implements appropriate sanitary and infection control measures.
  • Represents the community in a professional manner, communicating the philosophy and mission of the non-profit owners.
  • Observes and protects residents’ rights including the right to confidentiality, privacy, and dignity.
  • Practices and complies with established reporting of accidents and injuries.
  • Attends in-service education events and completes required training.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
  • Preference for a bachelor’s degree with a focus in social work, human services, public health, or community development
  • Two years of experience working in senior housing or social services field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills needed
  • Proficiency with Mircosoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other computer programs
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills needed
