Chesterbrook residents contribute to their local community!
On any given Monday from 2 pm – 3 pm, go down to the Terrace Level and down the hall to the Activities Room. There you will find the Knit-n-Stitch group busily at work knitting — squares. That’s right, squares. When enough squares have been knitted, they are assembled by head knitter Ruth Bathe into a quilt/blanket. These blankets are then donated to Bethany House, a homeless shelter in Alexandria. Typically, five quilts are completed each year.
Ruth Bathe was hard at work assembling the latest quilt. It was five squares by seven squares of a rainbow of colors. Donations of yarn to help with this project are greatly appreciated.
