This spring, several of our residents participated in a virtual art show for the Virginia Association of Non-Profit Homes for the Aging (VANHA), at their 40th Annual Conference in Hot Springs, VA. Instead of collecting the actual artwork for display, photographs were taken of the art and put into a video that was played at the conference. This virtual art show featured 153 resident artists from 17 VANHA communities, contributing 242 pieces of art! Special thanks go to Chesterbrook volunteer, Frank Barnako, for photographing the art in the proper format for submission to the show.
The Chesterbrook artists and their categories were:
- Katherine Bengalee, Painting (oil)
- Mary Blaney, Painting (acrylic)
- Barbara Donnelly, Mixed Media (counted cross stitch)
- Fran Klavans, Painting (oil)
- Elise Rosenfeld, Photography
- Sal Trivisani, Painting (acrylic)
- Julia McLean Williams, Photography
A panel of professional judges selected ribbon winners in three categories: Painting and Drawing, Photography, and Mixed Media. Many thanks to each of our artists for sharing your talent and creativity! And congratulations to the following winners from Chesterbrook Residences:
