Our physical therapist Debbie Adams completed the San Diego Rock and Roll marathon on June 1st. There were approximately 20,000 particpants. Start time was 6:30 am and the 26.2 mile course went through some very scenic areas of San Diego - Balboa Park and Mission Bay.
According to Debbie, "A rock and roll marathon is just what is sounds like. Rock and roll bands are dispersed through out the entire course (over 40 in this case). So it's quite inspirational when you're at mile 20 and wondering why the heck you're running a marathon, to hear a classic ACDC tune. It helps to kick start that second win. My daughter and I ran it together. As a matter of fact, she is the reason I ran it. She asked me if I would run a marathon with her, so I had to say yes. We picked the San Diego run because I heard it was a nice level course and the weather is typically quite mild. It was a wonderful mother-daughter experience."
Here's Debbie at mile 11.
