(July 26, 2007 – McLEAN/FALLS CHURCH) – The Rotary Clubs of McLean and Tysons Corner have joined hands to “get the wheels turning” on the purchase of a new van for Chesterbrook Residences.
In the picture on the left from the Rotary Club of Tysons Corner, James Maloney, the outgoing Foundation Chairman presented on July 12th a $5,000 donation to Chesterbrook Residences to be used for the purchase of a van.
On July 24th, the Rotary Club of McLean presented Chesterbrook Residences with a contribution from club and Foundation funds towards the purchase of the van. In the bottom left picture, McLean Rotary Club President Scott Mills presents a donation of $10,000 to Chesterbrook Residences.
In expressing appreciation to the clubs for their donations, Edmondson noted that the residences of Chesterbrook will be indebted to them for helping to provide transportation to and from doctors’ appointments, shopping, recreation and other activities.
Chesterbrook Residences is a cooperative outreach project of Lewinsville Presbyterian Church and Immanuel Presbyterian Church, both of McLean, and Temple Rodef Shalom of Falls Church, currently under construction at 2030 Westmoreland Street in Falls Church. These three congregations with the National Capital Presbytery comprise the non-profit Board of Directors of Chesterbrook Residences Inc.
Chesterbrook Residences is currently accepting applications for its 97 apartments. Forty-nine (49) of the apartments are eligible to receive housing subsidy assistance through Fairfax County.
Chesterbrook Residences is managed by Coordinated Services Management (CSM) Inc. of Roanoke, Virginia, operators of twenty-five senior residences in Virginia and Maryland including Tall Oaks in Reston, Potomac Place in Woodbridge and Culpepper Garden in Arlington.
