Th first annual Harvest Ball is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2008 from 7:00 to 9:30 PM. Tax deductible tickets are $25 per guest, and proceeds will benefit the Chesterbrook Continuing Care Fund. There will be a silent auction, dancing, wine bar, and hors d'oeuvres. Our Volunteer Coordinators, Claire Grossi, Linda Marshall, and Nancy Stansberry have been very busy this summer. With their efforts, we proudly opened our gift shop, The Chesterbrook Corner Store, last week, on Wednesday, August 27th. The ceremony was complete with residents, staff, and volunteers. Resident Bill Chalmer cut the ribbon, and everyone gathered into the gift shop. Many purchased items the very day, while many donated goods to be sold. Currently, shop hours are M, W, F 1-3pm.

Residents of Chesterbrook Residences proved recently that you are never too old to participate and triumph in Olympic Games.
Chesterbrook Residences kicked off its own Wii Olympics on Tuesday, August 12th with competition between the green and the yellow teams in the Wii bowling event. The competition was heated and team members were cheered on by their fellow residents who showed equal enthusiasm for both sides. Highlights of the event included a visit by Steve Gurney, publisher of the "Guide to Retirement Living", along with his five-year old son.
The next event will be against volunteers at Chesterbrook on August 19th, followed by games against the local fire department the next day. On August 21st the teams will take on the staff of Chesterbrook.
